The Franz Kafka Society and Centre pays tribute to the memory of Václav Havel!
Václav Havel supported the creation of the Society in 1990, he visited its headquarters on Old Town Square in 1995.
In 2005, he received the Franz Kafka Prize, which the Society awards, on behalf of the seriously ill laureate and his close friend, British playwright Harold Pinter.
In 2010, he became the laureate of this international literary award!
In the photograph, he is shown with the symbol of this prize, a statuette of Kafka’s monument in Prague. We attach the text which Václav Havel confided to us on that occasion, his ‘text on Kafka’ presented in Jerusalem in 1990.
