Mr. Josef Čermák passed away
The Committee of the Franz Kafka Society, the jury of the Franz Kafka International Literary Prize and the staff of the Franz Kafka Centre are deeply saddened by the loss of Josef Čermák. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends during this difficult time. May God give them the comfort and peace that they seek and may the soul of their loved one rest in peace. We lost a co-founder of the Franz Kafka Society and a long-time member of its Committee, a member of the international jury of the Franz Kafka Prize and a pre-eminent expert not just on the life and work of Kafka but on world literature as a whole. It was an honor to have known such a great person and we will truly miss him all. We would like to express our deepest sympathies and most heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and colleagues.
